Well, the bathroom is not finished for Easter but we will have a family dinner here anyway! We will hold off the open house party till next week.
Here's a news flash: Tom fell at work and fractured the radial head of his right arm which is in the elbow area. Ouch! He's in a sling. He will see the orthopedic today. He'll probably be out of work for 4-6 weeks now. He's right-handed so it will be hard for him to do certain things.
We had plans to leave on April 13th to return to Florida, so not sure what we'll do now if anything different. Will have pictures soon of the finished house. Stay-tuned!

Winding down our NY time
Well, the kitchen is just about done. Bob is painting it today. Some trim needs to be completed also but all in all, it will be done this week. The bathroom project is well under way. We are hoping it will be done by this weekend, but it may not be totally completed. We are going to have Easter dinner here on Sunday, so I will have to clean the house from all this remodel dust from the bathroom! Again! :-(
I think we are going to push ahead the "open house" as well. Guess I'll know by Wednesday or Thursday and can make a decision then.
We will be in Gainesville on April 13th. We'll fly Jet Blue into Orlando and have Melissa pick us up. Sebastian should be there also. We'll stay with Carol Lee for a few days and are going to try to go to Westside for church on Sunday before we head over to Panama City.
I may have a potential job lined up for the end of June. Will have to see what God has in store!

Yard Sale!
Well, we just had Day 1 of the yard sale at my brother's house! Wow, what a day! We were out there from 8am-3pm. We had a beautiful day to have the sale---it was 72 degrees and sunny. So we're going to have it another day and see what we can sell. This was a spur of the moment decision to have a yard sale since the weather was gong to be so nice. So we took advantage of it. The basement is pretty much cleaned out!
John, my other brother, "demo'ed" the bathroom, so it's just about ready for its remodel this coming week.
We are planning on having an open house, and a belated anniversary party in 2 weeks on the afternoon of Easter Sunday. Everything should be done by then!
Our date to leave here is April 13th. We will fly to Orlando and then onto Gainesville. We will stay there for a week then head to Panama City for awhile while we try to find jobs. We'll stay with my friend, Diane. It's also where Sebastian is staying with our cats.
Sebastian found a job working through a workforce for Walmart. It's an okay job for him to make some steady money, so he's happy for that. That's about all for now...

Month of March already!
The kitchen at my brother's house is almost finished. The countertops should be in sometime next week and then the sink will be set. The cooking range will be hooked up to gas early next week also, so at least we'll be able to cook better. Hopefully my brother, John can put in the kitchen floor this weekend.
Other jobs around the house are also getting done---mainly all the painting by Bob. One of the upstairs bedrooms will be done later today. Also, probably the stairwell and landing. Window treatments are coming in next week. It was hard to decide on something that was not too costly, was pretty and practical as well and easy for my brother to keep clean! I'll post some pictures when we are done.
The weather will be warmer, like spring this weekend, but we are not counting on winter being over just yet! Our plans are to go back down to Florida probably the second week in April. We plan to visit in Gainesville as well as Panama City. We are looking for jobs for me as a nurse practitioner with temporary status so we'll see how that works out....

Snow and more snow!
We've gotten 22 inches of snow and it still may not be done snowing yet! Right now it has stopped. Just got plowed out with the snow plow guy using a "front loader" machine to scoop the snow out of the way since there is so much! We still have power but lots of people don't, including my other brother and sister who live in Newburgh and Montgomery. This is the most snow we've seen in awhile. But we are all safe and sound at least. Here's Bob out shoveling snow.....
I'd go help him shovel but don't have any boots! :-)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Valentine's Day is special for us every year because Bob and I were married on February 14th, 1995. We had met in May, 1994 and married the next February.
I had moved into the Springtree subdivision in Gainesville, FL, buying my first house on my own in August, 1993. In January 1994, I got a flyer from a painter looking for work. While I needed to have my house painted, I planned to do it myself with a friend's help. So I put the flyer into my "junk" drawer.
Later that year in April, I was cleaning out the junk drawer and found the flyer. So I decided to call the painter for an estimate. Bob came over a few days later to give me an estimate. He was kinda cute, I thought. But I wasn't looking for anybody. Besides I had a big cold sore on my lip! He gave me an estimate and I told him that I would think about it. He called me about 2 weeks later to see if I wanted to still paint my house and I finally made the decision to do so. He started painting and then called me the first night to ask how I liked the color. We talked then for the next 45 minutes! I was leaving for the Memorial Day weekend to go to Pensacola and wondered all the way over there what it all meant to talk to my painter for that long! But I tried to not make too much of it all.
When Bob came for his money, he asked me for a date! My nieces, Karen and Jill were coming down from Missouri and so I asked him about going canoeing with us and he did. Jill went with Bob and he was better at directing the canoe than me, Karen and I kept getting stuck! The next outing was tubing down the Ichnetucknee River with the nieces and another friend of mine. The third date was on our own and the rest is history!
We were thinking back over our 15 years of being married. We've done a lot in these 15 years. We adopted and raised a child. We hosted 4 exchange students from 2 different countries [Japan & Poland]. We've travelled on mission trips out west to Oregon, Washington and South Dakota. We went on a great trip a few months after we married to Glacier National Park in Montana, as well as Yellowstone and Grand Tetons in Wyoming. We travelled to Poland to teach English recently for 4 months. We've gone fishing, camping and have boated many times in the Gulf of Mexico with our son. We've owned 4 different boats [at different times] to fish in the Gulf. We've also owned 4 different houses in 15 years. It's been a great time!
We've had our share of downs as well with the recent economic crisis---Bob losing his mortgage business and losing our our dream house and investment properties. But we keep optimistic about the future---together. During all this time, we've grown closer to the Lord. We rely on Him to show us where he wants us and where to go next. So we are looking forward to the next 15+ years!

Update in NY
We've been in NY for almost a month now. Wow, the time has flown. We have been busy helping my brother to coordinate getting quotes from contractors to remodel his kitchen. Also, which cabinets to choose and which kitchen lay out design for the cabinets. Hopefully this week we can confirm and settle on ordering the cabinets.
Bob and my other brother John have been helping to paint the living room and one of the bedrooms so far. This is not only the walls but the trim around the doors and windows. It was a dark brown stain and now they are white! We will probably be changing out the interior doors to the six panel kind and painting them white as well. The wood floors have been refinished and look really nice. We had moved all the furniture into the kitchen and the den and hopefully in 2 days, we will be able to move things back.
We have to decide whether to paint the outdated paneling in the upper bedrooms or not. Lots of trim to paint also if we go that route. We will be putting down wood-look laminate flooring in the den and the upper bedrooms also. My brother John and Bob can put that down, thereby saving labor costs.
We started looking for a church to visit. Last week we went to the Goshen Christian Reform church. It was a good sermon but fairly traditional services. This week we went to Calvary Chapel church which is non-denominational. We really liked it. For a good 30 minutes, we were singing contemporary christian music---songs we knew! It was really great. The sermon was good too. We'll probably go back there this Wednesday for Bible study and see what that's like.
I have still been in touch with Ewa, Sebastian's polish mom and family by email. We love Sebastian's family and consider them to be a part of our family.
We have continued to pray about where God wants us to be in the next few months after we finish this project with my brother's house. Still don't have any clear direction as yet. We keep looking at the Georgia housing and job markets as well as Florida.
Sebastian remains in Panama City with our friend Diane and his cats, Kelly and Abey. He is making some money doing odd jobs for Diane's friends. He is going to look into taking some courses at the local technical school maybe in computers. He is putting in applications at different places for jobs.
We continue to give God praise that we are able to be here. We received our reimbursement compensation for our cancelled flight from Delta yesterday. What a blessing!
We continue to pray for all our friends and family far and wide. Please keep us in your prayers as well.
