Snow and more snow!

We've gotten 22 inches of snow and it still may not be done snowing yet!  Right now it has stopped.  Just got plowed out with the snow plow guy using a "front loader" machine to scoop the snow out of the way since there is so much!  We still have power but lots of people don't, including my other brother and sister who live in Newburgh and Montgomery.  This is the most snow we've seen in awhile.  But we are all safe and sound at least.  Here's Bob out shoveling snow.....

I'd go help him shovel but don't have any boots!   :-)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day is special for us every year because Bob and I were married on February 14th, 1995.  We had met in May, 1994 and married the next February.
I had moved into the Springtree subdivision in Gainesville, FL, buying my first house on my own in August, 1993.  In January 1994, I got a flyer from a painter looking for work.  While I needed to have my house painted, I planned to do it myself with a friend's help.  So I put the flyer into my "junk" drawer.
Later that year in April, I was cleaning out the junk drawer and found the flyer. So I decided to call the painter for an estimate.  Bob came over a few days later to give me an estimate.  He was kinda cute, I thought.  But I wasn't looking for anybody.  Besides I had a big cold sore on my lip! He gave me an estimate and I told him that I would think about it.  He called me about 2 weeks later to see if I wanted to still paint my house and I finally made the decision to do so.  He started painting and then called me the first night to ask how I liked the color.  We talked then for the next 45 minutes!  I was leaving for the Memorial Day weekend to go to Pensacola and wondered all the way  over there what it all meant to talk to my painter for that long!  But I tried to not make too much of it all.
When Bob came for his money, he asked me for a date!  My nieces, Karen and Jill were coming down from Missouri and so I asked him about going canoeing with us and he did. Jill went with Bob and he was better at directing the canoe than me, Karen and I kept getting stuck!  The next outing was tubing down the Ichnetucknee River with the nieces and another friend of mine.  The third date was on our own and the rest is history!
We were thinking back over our 15 years of being married. We've done a lot in these 15 years.  We adopted and raised a child.  We hosted 4 exchange students from 2 different countries [Japan & Poland]. We've travelled on mission trips out west to Oregon, Washington and South Dakota. We went on a great trip a few months after we married to Glacier National Park in Montana, as well as Yellowstone and Grand Tetons in Wyoming. We travelled to Poland to teach English recently for 4 months.  We've gone fishing, camping and have boated many times in the Gulf of Mexico with our son.  We've owned 4 different boats [at different times] to fish in the Gulf.  We've also owned 4 different houses in 15 years.  It's been a great time!
We've had our share of downs as well with the recent economic crisis---Bob losing his mortgage business and losing our our dream house and investment properties.  But we keep optimistic about the future---together.  During all this time, we've grown closer to the Lord.  We rely on Him to show us where he wants us and where to go next.  So we are looking forward to the next 15+ years!
