Update in NY

We've been in NY for almost a month now.  Wow, the time has flown.  We have been busy helping my brother to coordinate getting quotes from contractors to remodel his kitchen.  Also, which cabinets to choose and which kitchen lay out design for the cabinets.  Hopefully this week we can confirm and settle on ordering the cabinets.
Bob and my other brother John have been helping to paint the living room and one of the bedrooms so far.  This is not only the walls but the trim around the doors and windows.  It was a dark brown stain and now they are white!  We will probably be changing out the interior doors to the six panel kind and painting them white as well.  The wood floors have been refinished and look really nice.  We had moved all the furniture into the kitchen and the den and hopefully in 2 days, we will be able to move things back.
We have to decide whether to paint the outdated paneling in the upper bedrooms or not.  Lots of trim to paint also if we go that route.  We will be putting down wood-look laminate flooring in the den and the upper bedrooms also.  My brother John and Bob can put that down, thereby saving labor costs.
We started looking for a church to visit.  Last week we went to the Goshen Christian Reform church.  It was a good sermon but fairly traditional services.  This week we went to Calvary Chapel church which is non-denominational.  We really liked it.  For a good 30 minutes, we were singing contemporary christian music---songs we knew!  It was really great.  The sermon was good too.  We'll probably go back there this Wednesday for Bible study and see what that's like.
I have still been in touch with Ewa, Sebastian's polish mom and family by email.  We love Sebastian's family and consider them to be a part of our family.
We have continued to pray about where God wants us to be in the next few months after we finish this project with my brother's house.  Still don't have any clear direction as yet.  We keep looking at the Georgia housing and job markets as well as Florida.
Sebastian remains in Panama City with our friend Diane and his cats, Kelly and Abey.  He is making some money doing odd jobs for Diane's friends.  He is going to look into taking some courses at the local technical school maybe in computers. He is putting in applications at different places for jobs.
We continue to give God praise that we are able to be here.  We received our reimbursement compensation for our cancelled flight from Delta yesterday.  What a blessing!
We continue to pray for all our friends and family far and wide.  Please keep us in your prayers as well.

Happy New Year!

It is cold up here in NY.  Expecting snow again tomorrow. Temperature is going to be in the low 20's again as a high!.  We are in the process of helping my brother remodel his house.  Wood floors need refinishing, new carpet possibly, new kitchen cabinets and flooring, etc---phew!  Will be deciding on a contractor soon.  Bob is helping to pull up the carpet to expose the wood floor and will do some of the painting.  The floor refinisher will be here next week.  Lots to do but getting a good start on it all.  Once we decide on a design for the kitchen, it will take 4 weeks for the cabinets to come in and 2 weeks to get the kitchen all done.  After we get all of that done, then we'll be looking for jobs in Florida or Georgia by early March.
